Deri Washington, Owner/Principal Designer

Deri Washington is an experienced and creative interior designer whose main focus is service.  She earned her degree in interior design from Ashworth College in Norcross, Georgia. Deri founded her own interior design company, Tranquil Designs, LLC in 2009. Deri is known for her attention to detail and her ability to visualize what her clients’ needs are and then translate their vision into reality.

Deri has worked on a number of projects in all sizes, from full-house design to simple color consults. She has worked on a number of commercial projects, including office spaces, as well. Deri’s passion for design shows in her work – she believes that you change someone’s life by simply transforming their space.

Deri has a heart for community and has developed a program within her business to give back. Every year she chooses a nonprofit organization in her community and donates her designs skills and any furniture needed to makeover one room in that organization. She was awarded a certificate for an outstanding job well done in 2015 from the Pregnancy Resource Center of the Poconos.

In her spare time she tries to spend as much time as possible with her grandchildren.

Jesse Pleasants, Designer

Jesse gained his interest in design early in life, growing up with a family in the residential construction business. He began studying architecture and design while in high school and went on to pursue a degree in Architecture from UNC-Charlotte. Once he realized that architecture wasn’t the field for him, he then pursued his true passion for Interior Design, gaining his BFA in Design from the Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham. He has worked as a designer for prestigious furniture companies like Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn, and has experience in both residential and commercial design. Jesse’s passion for design comes through in his work and he believes things should always be beautiful and interesting. “Design is like a puzzle, you have to find the right pieces to go together perfectly and it really sparks creativity. I can’t think of any better feeling than when a design starts to come together before your eyes.” Jesse is a native of the Raleigh-Durham area and currently lives in SE Durham. He enjoys cooking (Ina Garten is his idol), traveling, and relaxing with his Staffordshire bull terrier, April.
